Tuscany Wine Tour (FDE)

- Tuscany Wine Tour -
The Chianti area is a lovely countryside where the gentle slopes of the Tuscan hills are extensively covered with vineyards yielding some of the best wines in the world. A tour will quickly reveal the care and attention devoted by local vine-growers to their activity: beautifully laid out lines of neatly trimmed vines offer a marvellous view to the travellers' eyes and when it is harvest time the cheerful songs of the pickers provide a pleasant addition to this idyllic context. We fully appreciate how all visitors are tempted to taste the sweet product of the growers' efforts. This is why the tour will call at the towns that are renowned for the many excellent wine cellars: Castellina, Greve and Radda all belong to this category; besides, they often display architectural structures (walls, churches, etc.) that go back to the Early Middle Ages and are very interesting to see. And then, are you not also curious to discover how Chianti wines are actually produced? Well, a visit to a vine-growing farm is absolutely essential if you wish to receive detailed explanations on the various stages of wine production and to have an opportunity to taste various types of wine matched with different kinds of cheese and salami.
Roadbook
An English-speaking driver-guide will pick you up at your hotel and take you directly to the Chianti area where you will visit some lovely little towns and enjoy the view of a gentle countryside literally covered with rich vineyards. The tour will make an initial stop at a local farm where an English-speaking member of the staff will show you around the vineyard and the processing plant. We will obviously arrange wine tasting events so that you may able to taste different types of Chianti wine and learn how to match their flavor with the proper kinds of cheese and salami.
The tour will then call at Radda, Greve and Castellina to allow you to enjoy the countryside and visit typical towns of the area. At your request you will also be given an opportunity to taste Tuscan cuisine at a characteristic local restaurant.
Note: full-day excursions (FDE) will normally last 9/10 hours, inclusive of travelling time to and from your hotel.
